Not all motocross riders are professional. There are multiple tracks around the area that give people an opportunity to show off their skills. Growing up at the track opens up people’s eyes to something more than anything else.

Local rider, Scott Clapper, began riding at the young age of just two years old. Within such young start, he has received over one hundred top three finishes.

“When I’m riding, I’m in the zone,” Clapper said.

One thing that is important when it comes to riding is training. Without the training process, riders wouldn’t even make it to the finish line. From the time the 30- second board goes up, riders minds go into a different state.

“When I see that board go up, my heart starts to race and I realize it’s go time, and that I want to be the first one to that first turn,” Clapper said.

In order to get through however many laps drivers need to for that specific race, they need to keep their stamina. They also need to know how to pace themselves for each lap.

“As long as I know that I trained 100 percent, I can give 100 percent in the race,” Clapper said.
