The moments twirlers go through every week
This week I was really sick so I did not get to go out and practice. I was really disappointed because I won’t have another practice with my coach until January because she is going on vacation.
This week has been going really slow, and I have not been in school. I hate the fact that I have not been able to practice because I cannot make myself better by sitting in my bed for a week. It is not like I could help the fact that I was sick, but I really wish this cold would go away so I can practice. Practicing is such a great stress reliever, and it truly allows me to calm down when I am upset. The fact that I have been out for a week is going to bring me down so much; it is like an injury. Once you have been out for so long it is hard to get back in the game like you used to. It is going to take me about a week to get back to where I was and be steady, so I am going to be two weeks behind from where I should be. I know I should not push myself so hard but if I don’t then it feels like I am failing and everyone can see that.
Although I have not been able to practice, I was planning on working on my strut so I could compete with it for this competition season. I am so close to completing it, and I cannot wait to get it done. I am also excited to get a new show routine. I love showing attitude in front of judges and getting my name out there. Competition season is so close, and it is so excited. Well mostly exciting, it can be scary too. Some girls are really mean during competitions, they talk smack and give dirty looks. The worst part is if you beat them in a category they are good at, they will complain and even go to the judges sometimes. Honestly, some girls should not be able to compete because of their attitude. But that’s none of my business.
