News Brief: Sam’s Club and Walmart make donations

A joint effort between Sam’s Club and Walmart supplied schools throughout Altoona with face mask kits, disinfectant wipes and face shields.

“Wal-mart and Sam’s Club are always looking for ways to give back to our community. Being able to supply our local schools with personal protective equipment during this time is something we are pleased to do,” said team leader Joe Ardizzone.

“I was contacted by Ardizzone who is part of the management at Sam’s Club in Altoona. When Sam’s Club had excess materials to donate, they asked their managers for ideas of folks in non-profit organizations and/or schools that may be able to take the donations of masks and put them to good use. Ardizzone knew I was a school teacher and reached out to me for information,” said teacher Emily Eakins.

The donated supplies have been delivered for everyday school use to help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic!
