Announcements for Monday, March 20!

(3/20) Hello everyone. I’m Ingrid Steward, and I’m here speaking on behalf of the news writing staff. I’m here today to tell you all about our new poll that we have uploaded on the Livewire website. We are going to have a new poll every Monday, or the first day of the week that students and even staff can vote on to share  opinions. Scroll down right below the inquiring photographer post to cast your vote. Our polls each week will vary from school topics to pop culture! So go to the Livewire website and cast your vote! Polls will end on the last day of the week at 3 p.m.

(3/15-3/22) Students, did you know the end of the third marking period is March 23?  That means you only have six to go.  Do you have missing assignments?  Are you close to the next higher letter grade?  If so, get busy!  You have a few days left to work hard and finish strong.  Remember, students with an average of 90% or better earn the Honor Roll distinction.  Also, at the end of the year, A-pins are awarded to students who have an average of 86% or better in core subjects, and an average of 81% or better in elective classes. Make an academic achievement goal for this year and work towards that goal every day!

(3/16 and 3/24) Attention 8th Grade students: The AAHS Lioneer Dance Team is announcing that we will be using an in person tryout format for Lioneer tryouts this year. All students entering grades 9-12 for the 2023-2024 are eligible to try out. Please email Mrs. Schmoke at [email protected] if you are interested in trying out. Provide your name, grade and school email address. Tryouts for the Lioneer Dance Team will be held on March 25th at 8:00am and will end at 11:00am

(3/20-3/28) Circle of Friends will hold its next meeting after school on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 2:45-3:45.  We will be welcoming spring and having pizza.  Please complete the attendance form in google classroom.

(3/20) Attention students:  Here is your daily math puzzle:  How can we go straight from 98 to 720 by using just one letter?  Everyone is welcome to come to our Mathcounts meeting on Wednesday until 3:30. Please have a ride ready.  Please see Mrs. Abbott in C275 for details or email. Our Mathcounts team traveled to Harrisburg and participated in the State Mathcounts competition Friday and Saturday! Dilara Dileo, Diego Gil, Oliver Krainer and Adrian Pacifico represented our school amongst 144 total state mathcounts competitors.  Congratulations to all the team members for qualifying for this great event.  Diego Gil placed in the top 25% of the state.  Good Job Team!
