Reel Time

This week the Livewire interviewed ninth grader Trenton Heverly for the Reel Time blog.

“My favorite movie is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It portrays the true meaning of friendship, how to acquire them and how to keep them once you have one,” Heverly said.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a show that is produced by Hasbro Studios. It is an adventure, comedic and a fantasy show. The show only airs on Hub Network and American pay television. The show is written by a handful of writers including Lauren Faust, Meghan McCarthy, M. A. Larson and many more. The show follows a studious unicorn pony named Twilight Sparkle as her mentor Princess Celestia guides the young pony to learn about friendship in the Ponyville. It shows some of the true struggles of starting or maintaining a friendship with your peers.

“My favorite character in this show is Pinkie Pie. She most clearly expresses the qualities of a true friend and goes through the internal struggle to find the friendship she needs,” Heverly said when asked his favorite character and why.

This show is mainly for children but any person at any age can watch the show. It shows the true meaning of friendship in many different ways. If someone is new to a school or just has trouble making friends in school, tell them to give the show a watch and see if they can learn anything from it. Join in next week to see another one of the student or teacher’s favorite show or movie.
