Looking forward to summer

Looking+forward+to+summer

Summer is the time of year when people can experience multiple activities and have the time of their lives.  Now is the time to start planning a summer full of fun in the sun.

There are so many fun events going on in this area and nearby.

For instance, State College hosts a yearly Color Run.  People have to pre-order the tickets but it’s a day where people can see all the colors in the rainbow.  The concept is to wear all white clothes and run a 5k.  This is also known as the Happiest 5k Run because it is to celebrate health, happiness and peace.  Through the run the participants get unique paint thrown at them so at the end they are covered in an explosion of color.  For more information, dates and other areas that hold the Color Run go to the website below.

Also, it is easy to make summer snacks.  Some being root beer floats and the classic s’mores.  Some good treats also are snow cones and ice cream.  A fun thing to make that is edible is garden party garland.  It is a variation of foods cut in small portions and is a way to incorporate healthy foods into your meal.

There are also activities within the community like for example the local public library.  Making a summer bucket list is a way to start off summer too.  Going to an amusement park, water park or zoo is a top priority to do every summer.  In Pennsylvania alone there is twelve amusement parks and two of them are local.  Delgrosso’s and Lakemont are closest to the area and only at most thirty minutes away.  At Lakemont Park they even have the oldest surviving roller coaster, the Leap-the-Dips.

A summer tradition is also going to the Drive-Ins and seeing the summer movie blockbusters.  Some movies to look forward to are comedies, thrillers, action and syfy.  Spiderman 2 is an expected hit in the box office for starters.  Disney’s remake of Sleeping Beauty called Maleficent is something to look forward to also.

There is so much to see, to do and experience this summer.  To be a part of a fun filled summer start planning it ahead of time. “ It was a splendid summer morning and it seemed as if nothing could go wrong.John Cheever said.
