Hadley Hollern is this week’s drama king of the week. He is always eager to be a part of the school’s next big production. Starting in seventh grade he has been in all the school plays.
Most recently Hadley has been seen in Peter Pan Jr. as the part of Captain Hooks right hand man, Mr. Smee. Peter Pan is a childhood classic also known as the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up. When the school did the play Into the Woods Hollern was excited for it being his favorite play. In this production he was Cinderella’s father. This year it is also expected for a film production of this to come out starring top entertainers such as Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp and Anna Kendrick.
Outside of drama Hollern is also a part of chorus. He enjoys playing baseball too. He is most familiar with the positions of first, pitcher and outfield.
In the class for drama, Hollern does improv games. Space Jump, being a commonly done improv exercise, is one of his favorites. Hollern finds his strengths in playing the rule of funny, out going, energetic characters and even using accents. He finds it difficult to be the part of a serious character.
Hollern’s favorite actor is Will Ferrell. He is a top comedian and known worldwide. Recently he was a main character in the movie Anchorman. His favorite movie also feature Ferrell in Step Brothers. John C. Reily alos was a part of this movie. The duo made for an interesting combo. Its a must see, laugh out loud movie.
“Drama makes me, A, more friends and B, less scared to show who I am,” Hadley Hollern said.
