Reel Time

This is the last blog for Reel Time and it feels like it has to be a classical movie! The movie of the week is a truly beloved and classic film of all time.

“I have many favorite movies, but one of my all time favorites is The Breakfast Club. I love this movie because it expresses to people that it doesn’t matter where you come from or what your background is. The five high school students, all different stereotypes, meet in detention. They end up pouring their hearts out to each other, and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought,” seventh grader Takera Jones said.

The Breakfast Club is an absolute amazing movie about precisely what Jones said. It’s about five teenagers who meet in detention, all different backgrounds, and spill their hearts out to each other. The movie came out in the 80’s and was directed by John Hughes.

“My favorite character is Brian Johnson, played by Anthony Michael Hall. He i my favorite character because he is ‘The Brain’ of the group and everyone else thinks his life is perfect, but it’s really not. Nobody’s life is perfect and everyone has struggles in his or her life,” Jones said.

Anthony Michael Hall was 17 when that movie came out and now he is about 46 years old. Just because the movie is old doesn’t mean it’s not good! Make sure to add it to your list of movies for this summer!
