DIY Constellation Jar
Astronomy is the one topic that I loved learning about in science class last year. Ever since then, I’ve always looked up in awe at the stars at night. This DIY constellation jar centers around the stars and you can make it with items around your house. In a few minutes you can have stars shining all over your wall.
What you’ll need:
-Wide mouth jar
-Small light
-Aluminum sheet/aluminum foil(I used aluminum foil for this)
-Scissors
-Something small to poke holes into the aluminum(I used a toothpick)
First you want to cut your aluminum so it will fit in the jar and will fill the whole jar from top to bottom. Use a spoon to flatten out any wrinkles in the sheet. Then take the toothpick and poke holes in the aluminum. I put the shapes of different constellations. I did The Big Dipper, The Little Dipper, Draco, Orion, and Gemini. Connect the holes with a gray sharpie, then fill up the rest of the open space with smaller holes.
After putting holes through the aluminum, cut the aluminum so it will fit into the jar. Shape it into a cylinder and place it in the jar. Then put the light that you choose into the jar. Put the lid on the jar, and voila! You have your own stars in your room! This simple DIY is perfect adults and children and can be a great decoration.
