Sometimes photographs do not come out as we hope to. An action shot could become blurry. Lighting could go haywire. Awkward shadows may appear. Distractions can appear in the background. The photos selected this week are examples of all the bad qualities in a photo. Photographers can improve their pictures by filling up negative space and changing the setting on a camera for example.

Streaky! A good quality photo was ruined by the effects of a dirty lens. Camera lenses are very fragile and must be kept clean at all times, otherwise a single small fingerprint could create the streaky effect on an image.

A blurry mess. This photo, taken at a ninth grade white boys’ basketball game, came out fuzzy due to using the wrong setting. When photographing an event where objects are in motion, using the sports setting on the camera would be the best option to get the best quality photos.

Glowing! Sometimes when taking a picture the flash is needed to make the picture brighter. It important that when you use the flash there aren’t any reflective surfaces that will ruin the picture.

Blurryface! Also when taking pictures it is important for the camera to be stabilized so the picture doesn’t turn out blurry. On some camera’s there is a stabilizer on the lens that can be used to help the photographer take better pictures.
