Athlete of the week, Jake Stolarski was asked several questions about his fun and exciting basketball season and upcoming baseball season.
Q: What sports do you play?
A: “ I play basketball and baseball,” Jake Stolarski said.
Q: Without referees, what would our sport be like?
A: “ It would be unorganized and there would be a lot of arguing and a lot of fighting,” Stolarski said.
Q: Why is it good and bad to have rivals?
A: “ It’s good to have rivals because I try my hardest and there tends to be a lot of people to support. It’s bad to have rivals because there is a lot of fighting over bad calls by the referees and fighting in general,” Stolarski said.
Q: What’s your favorite warm up drill?
A: “ I like to do basketball layups because it gets me ready for the game. For baseball I like to pitch,” Stolarski said.
Q: Favorite athlete and why?
A: “My favorite athlete is Andrew McCutchen because is very good at baseball and he never gives up when he is doing bad,” Stolarski said.
Q: What was the best advice you were ever given?
A: “ Bring your game not your name is the best advice I was given. Just because you’re a good player doesn’t mean you don’t have to try your hardest,” Stolarski said.
Q: What are your future goals? What would you like to be when you graduate high school? What school do you want to go to?
A: I want to attend the University of Pitt. I would like to work with computers or be drafted in the MLB,” Stolarski said.
