The ninth grade class has two dances throughout the year. They are the Sweethearts and the Social. The Sweethearts took place on Feb. 14. A good number of students attended the dance. It was a great gathering, and it was full of dancing and friends having a good time. They also had a good reason to get all dressed up. The teachers probably had a great time being the ones in jeans and a t-shirt while all of the kids were in dressy attire.
Although most of the kids were dancing the whole time, some of them probably danced up an appetite. The students were giving free drinks which were appreciated greatly, because they quenched our thirst. For the students next year, maybe the Executive Community should fund for at least some pretzels and chips.
Since the dance occurs in the gym, the custodians have to put down a tarp so the gym floor does not get damaged. The students understand that the floor needs to be protected, but some of the students tripped on multiple occasions.
Overall the dance was full of great experiences. The students had a great time with their friends and are looking forward to social. For the social more students should attend because it is the last dance as a ninth grade class.
