This week’s pet is a Golden Retriever named Mimi. Mimi’s owner is eighth grader Madisyn Simington.
“We’ve had her for two years, and I got her for Christmas,” Simington said.
Golden Retrievers are one of the most common dog types in America. This breed of dog is a very helpful dog, and takes part in the seeing eye program which provides blind people with a guide dog. Golden Retrievers also make very good family pets. The dogs require normal care.
“We feed her dog food and give her water, and she goes to the groomer’s once a month,” Simington said.
These dogs can also be quite comical.
“Once she got out and chased a milk carton down the street,” Simington said.
Golden Retrievers are big on chewing if they weren’t taught as a puppy. They also eat things that they aren’t supposed to if no one corrects them.
“She ate my shoe,” Simington said.
If anyone is looking for a good family pet, then a Golden Retriever is a good dog for them.
