The gymnastics team’s season has come to an end after states on Feb. 24, 2018 in Moon Township.

The gymnastics team won districts, which all teams compete in, and will be moving onto the states competition on Feb. 24, 2018.

“I enjoyed the gymnastics season because I met so many new people. I got close to them in such a short amount of time. Everyone is always supporting each other no matter what,” ninth grader Cassie Kyle said.

The season began at the end of November and is now coming to a close at the end of February.

“I enjoyed competing because it gave me a chance to show what I’ve learned, and I knew that no matter how I did everyone would be happy,” Kyle said.

Gymnasts’ compete in four categories which include bars, beam, floor and vault.

“My favorite event is floor because it leaves more room for creativity. You get to pick your own music and create a routine that lasts for a minute and thirty seconds,” Kyle said.

Floor is an event in competitive gymnastics that consists of various tumbling maneuvers performed on a mat.

“I think I will definitely go out for the team next year because I really enjoyed being around everyone and competing with my teammates,” Kyle said.

Gymnastics is available for all students from ninth grade to twelfth

grade at the school. The next gymnastics season will start in November of 2018.
