News brief: Holiday Lights on the Lake

Holiday Lights on the Lake at Lakemont Park opened again from November 13, 2020, until January 3, 2021! This year with COVID-19 operations will be a little different. The drive-through experience will remain the same, but guests must abide by the social distance guidelines in Santa’s Village.  Because of the COVID-19 changes, there has been a spark of increased of people attending. Lights on the Lake, a drive-through experience, displays of over one million lights!

“We normally have approximately 20,000 cars visit our display each year. This year we have seen an increase in visitors,” Melanie Shildt, Lakemont’s general manager, said. Shildt has been the general manager for 3 months. 

Individuals and families can enjoy this event for themselves at Lakemont Park’s Holiday Lights on the Lake this winter. Shildt also said, “Holiday Lights on the Lake aims to provide the community with a safe, family-friendly event that brings joy and a sense of holiday spirit to everyone who visits.”
