News brief: Hats for Ukraine!
Get your hats ready!
Friday, March 18 students are invited to wear a school appropriate hat for $1! All donations will go to Save the Children Ukraine Crisis relief fund!
All money will be turned into your homeroom teacher.
According to the article “Help Save Children in Ukraine”
“Fighting in Ukraine has forced children and families to seek refuge in neighboring countries, with 2.5 million people having now crossed the borders. Your donation to the Children’s Emergency Fund can help provide children and families impacted by the conflict in Ukraine and around the world with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance.”
Fundraiser coordinator Justina McCaulley expressed her opinion on this fund.
“I think it’s important to educate junior high school students on world events. Through this fundraiser, it opens their eyes and teaches empathy,” said McCaulley.
Help the kids in Ukraine and wear your coolest hat Friday!
