Announcements for Wednesday, March 8!

(3/8) The Altoona Area Junior High School Drama Club is proud to present Willy Wonka, Jr. March 10th at 7:00 P.M. and 11th at 1:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Today we meet Violet Beauregarde and her mother Mrs. Beauregarde!  Violet is a skillful, self-centered, rude, and chewing gum-obsessed girl, the third person to find a Golden Ticket and the second to be eliminated from the tour. Violet chews gum obsessively and boasts that she has been chewing the same piece “for three months solid”, a world record which Violet proclaims was previously held by her best friend Cornelia Prinzmetel. Her mother constantly reminds Violet to get herself in check – and Violet constantly ignores her directives.  Violet is impatient, arrogant, self-centered, vain, and impulsive; however, she is also polite to everyone, with the exception of Veruca Salt, with whom she is persistently annoyed by. Violet’s competitive ways and always wanting to be the first and best at everything eventually gets her into some trouble in the factory….which leaves her feeling…well, quite BLUE one might be inclined to say. All performances will take place in the Altoona Area Junior High School Auditorium. General admission tickets will only be on sale at the door and will cost $8 for adults and $5 for students. Doors open approximately 1/2 hour before each show.   Take a chance on winning a prize by finding a Golden Ticket in a Wonka Bar or send a Candy Gram to your favorite cast or crew member – both for sale at the show for only $1! Come and observe for yourself the competitive Violet, her exasperated mother, and the rest of the cast in Willy Wonka, Jr.!!! We hope to see you there!
