9/12/23: The AAJHS Lady Lions traveled to Spring Cove Middle School yesterday to take on the Dragons for their third game of the season. The Lady Lions struck first with a goal at the 7 minute mark from Morgan Irwin to Emma Etters. The midfield and defense controlled the ball most of the first half until Katie Beck assisted Morgan Irwin with goal number two at the 26 minute mark. A little over a minute later Maura Farabaugh found Evie Irwin to put the Lady Lions up 3-0 at the half. The second half adjustments made by the Dragons were no match for Nara Harzbecker and Maura Farabaugh as they connected Nara to Maura to put Altoona up 4-0. The final goal that slayed the Dragons was sent in from the corner of the 18 by Elsie Behe with three minutes to spare. The Dragons were held scoreless by a very tough defensive back line and the keeper duo of Leah Nedimyer and Makayla Patterson. Congratulations, girls!
