The AAJHS Speech League will be holding an informative meeting on Thursday, September 12th after school in Mrs. Palilla’s room (ROOM 410) until 3:30 P.M. If you are looking to improve your public speaking skills and have fun while doing it, then this might be the club for you! Meet some new people while becoming more confident in your ability to express yourself clearly. Effective communication will help you in all areas of life – both in and out of school – so come and check it out. We hope to see you there!
Dear Students:
The AAJHS Chess Club will begin on Wednesday, September 11th. Please plan to attend from 2:45 – 3:45 in cafeteria 2 (near the tech. ed. rooms). All students are welcome to join this club. Please know that you must have transportation. Also, a permission form must be completed and returned to Mr. Werking in room 273 (8th grade floor) before you may join. If you are interested in joining the chess club, please see Mr. Werking to sign up and get a permission form.
This is an important announcement for any student who attends the Fitness Room after school: Due to the extremely high number of students attending the fitness room after school daily, there is a need to assign students to work out on different days according to your LAST name. This will begin on Wednesday of this week. Starting Wednesday, September 11 students with last name beginning with A – K will attend every other day. Starting Thursday, September 12, students with last name starting L – Z will attend every other day. Thank You.
Rules for Mansion Park
In order to maintain a safe, orderly and enjoyable atmosphere for all those attending the 8th grade football game at Mansion Park on Wednesday evening, the following guidelines will be followed for students/spectators entering Mansion Park Stadium. These rules and procedures will be enforced at all times in order to keep our fans safe and students well supervised.
· All students in grades 6 through 12 are required to present a school-issued ID. They must sit in the designated student section that will be monitored by stadium officials. Or they may sit with their parents or guardians for the entirety of the game.
· Students in grades K-5 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult for the entirety of the game.
· No backpacks will be permitted in the stadium. All bags and belongings are subject to search and seizure.
· No loitering is permitted. Students/Spectators must sit in the stands. Aisles must be kept clear at all times. Congregating under the bleachers or around the concession areas will not be permitted. Standing along the field fence during the game is prohibited.
· There will be no walking around the outside of the field during the football game.
· Students/Spectators who throw food, drink, or other items will be immediately escorted from the stadium, will not be allowed re-admittance, and may be banned from the stadium for the remainder of the school year.

The Tech. Club sign up sheet and permission slips are located outside room 445. Please sign up if you are interested and turn in your permission slip by Friday.

Think Lab is back! Think Lab meets the second Wednesday of each month after school until 3:30pm. Our kickoff meeting is TODAY!
Join Ms. Gardner and Miss Astle in Room C258 to use common materials to solve creative STEM problems like building the tallest tower out of pasta noodles and folding the farthest flying paper airplane. This month we will be exploring the boundaries of a single piece of paper and all that it can do. All students are welcome and encouraged to check it out. Be sure you schedule your ride to pick you up at 3:30 if you plan to stay! See Ms. Gardner in Room C258 with any questions!
All 8th grade National Junior Honor Society members: information was posted to the Google Classroom about required community service hours. Be sure to check the post, and if you need a form, see Mrs. Hovan in room 240.
8th graders interested in being involved on the 8th Grade Class Committee are reminded that applications are due to Ms. Wilson in room 267 by the end of school today.
The after school Fitness Room will be open to students with the last name starting A – K today, Wednesday, September 11. Again, only students with the last name starting A – K will be allowed in the fitness room after school today. Thank you.
