As this basketball season is on its way, seventh and eighth grade girl’s basketball coach Erika Bailor is getting ready to start coaching this season.
Bailor said she’s going to change up our offense by changing our plays and defense and encourage more positivity in a team aspect this year by making everyone be more positive with each other.
Bailor is also most excited for the memories we’ll make as a team because it is our last years together and also for the growth and hard work we’re going to put in together. However, she is least excited for waking up early on Saturday mornings for practices because it is so early in the morning.
Our toughest games are going to match our Mid-Penn ninth grade schedule, and also Bishop Guilfoyle is a rival said Bailor.
Bailor said, “I look forward to playing our rivals BG and Hollidaysburg because they have been rivals for years and are a challenge when it comes to playing them.”
Bailor said she started coaching because of her love for the game.
“I’ve played since second grade, but honestly, my main reason is for the girls. I love being a part of their growth as an athlete and as a person. I love creating relationships with them, challenging them and coaching them,” said Bailor.
Bailor says that she loves coaching and that she has been doing it for eight years.
Bailor said, “My favorite thing about coaching is creating relationships and bonds with the girls and watching the progress they make through the season, after all their hard work.”
Come out for the next game on Monday, Dec. 16 at 3:30 p.m.!
