Sixth grade math teacher Scott Woomer has taught at four different schools during his 32 year teaching career.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work at several schools, including Wright Elementary, Juniata Gap Elementary, Baker Elementary and now here. Moving around has kept me fresh and prevented me from getting stagnant,” said Woomer.
Having educators is very important and beneficial to our society.
Woomer said when persevering, I think having a positive attitude is key.
“There will be good days and bad days, but it’s important to focus on the positive and learn from the negative. Surrounding yourself with good people can also be incredibly helpful. I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing individuals throughout my career,” said Woomer.
Woomer said change can also be invigorating.
“For newer teachers, I’d advise staying positive. It’s easy to get caught up in the negativity, but remember the value of your work. You’re impacting the lives of every child you encounter, hopefully in a positive way,” Woomer said.
