Seventh grade learning support teacher and seventh grade student council advisor Michelle Anderson has been teaching for 31 years! Anderson started by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Clarion University. Then, she earned a Masters of Education from St. Francis University.
It’s very important to persevere in the field of learning support because of the challenges that teachers face when trying to help a certain student with a disability.
“A way to persevere is having a good group of teachers who are positive and help you with ideas and listen to you on the bad days,” Anderson said when explaining her main way of persevering.
Having good people surrounding you and helping when in need is profitable
Anderson said, “My advice to the new teachers would be that they find their tribe and find people who will help them.”
It’s okay to ask for help especially when you are new to something. That’s why it’s good to find the people you fit in with most and the ones that give.
