Blocks On Screen Stealing Attention

Mobile block game recently stealing everyone’s attention.

The mobile game Block Blast has been blowing up everywhere. Many people are taking part and playing it lately on their phones.

Block Blast is a free challenging mobile game identical to Tetris. 

To play, one puts blocks in order to connect them to clear the board and gain more points. The main difference between the two games is how players can’t twist the pieces when placed. There’s also an adventure mode on the app where gamers complete quests to make a certain shape and finish the season. Many people usually only play the classic mode, trying to clear the board to get points.

This begs the question of why this game is so popular right now? 

Games like this have existed before with almost the same concept, such as Tetris. Tetris has stayed insanely popular for years and no games have gotten close to it but Block Blast may have climbed up almost to it. Also, there’s numerous other mobile games similar to Block Blast that offer much more inside their game than only two modes.

An avid player of the game eighth grader Abigail Chverchko says why she plays it.

“I play Block Blast because it’s an extremely entertaining activity and helps strengthen my brain skills,” said Chverchko.

Block Blast is a fun game to many and can help challenge players, but people all have different opinions on the rise.

Seventh grader Ruby Zlupko said, “I love it because it connects people. Whenever I see anyone playing it, I just point at them and scream Block Blast! We then might start talking about it and comparing our high scores.”

This is definitely a unique way to connect with people through the game. Most people who play the game try to break their high scores every time! The current top high score for the game at the moment of writing is 392k points.
