Every year for the past 17 years, sixth grade family consumer sciences teacher Mary Edmiston partakes in holiday baking with her sixth grade students.
This year they baked cheddar bay biscuits and chocolate chip cookies!
“It’s the time of year where a lot of families like to bake, so the kids learning how to do it in class will be able to do it at home,” said Edmiston.
When baking chocolate chip cookies, students made the dough from scratch and baked their own cookies.
Sixth grader Levi Goodman says the best part about baking is being able to eat it after and that he will definitely take what he learned in class and use his baking skills at home.
Goodman also gives a piece of advice for anyone who is considering baking, which is follow all of the steps of the recipe.
Baking is not something that you have to do on just holidays though. It is such a good way to spend time with your family or just to have fun!
