It’s always nice to take some time to get in touch with nature. Eighth grade pottery teacher John King explores nature through his hobbies of biking and hiking.
King said, “I started biking when I was 13 years old and I started biking because my dad broke his ankle and part of rehabilitation he was told to ride a bicycle and he got me one too.
Ever since a young age, he has fond memories of biking. From racing his friend eighth grade reading teacher Bron Clouser up a hill, to racing down the east coast, King has done a lot on his bike.
He started hiking during the Covid pandemic stating further that it was a good way to get outside. With not much else to do during the Covid pandemic, hiking was a great way to pass the time and get exercise. He explored many different places in the area
King said, “I like hiking down in Ohiopyle.”
To this day King still enjoys hiking and biking. He bikes almost everyday to school when the weather cooperates and will go on the occasional hike. He did however state that he preferred biking over hiking. It shows that there is more to teachers than just their lives in school.
