Rumors have speculated that on Jan. 19, TikTok is going to be banned in the US.
If Tiktok is banned, thousands of creators will lose their jobs and everyone who uses TikTok will have to switch to other social media platforms.
“The ban will affect a lot of people,” Eighth grader Aaralyn Smith says. “I am so angry because I don’t know what I would do in my free time.”
The ban has even made its way to The Supreme Court, and there was an interview with the founder.
Eighth grader Quincy Lanzendorfer says he thinks TikTok is going to be banned.
“I don’t think it would have made it through the branches of government if nothing were to come out of it,” Lanzendorfer says.
Nobody knows if the app will actually be banned, so we will just have to stay tuned and see what happens.
