Do you like competitions? How would you like to win a reward movie? Get ready to help Second Chance Strays from January 27th through the 31st! Mrs. Grassmyer’s Leader in Me class is starting a fundraiser to help the cats at Second Chance Strays. This non-profit organization is in desperate need of supplies such as money, food, blankets, litter, and more! These items will be collected during your Leader in Me class period. The classroom that raises the most per grade level will enjoy a reward movie, and the classroom with the most overall will receive a candy treat with the movie. If you like cats and would like to help, make sure to bring your donations January 27th through the 31st, to win a reward movie and special treat.

There will be a meeting today during leader in me at 10:50 in room c-260 to discuss upcoming baseball related activities. Please check in with your leader in me teachers first before coming to the meeting.
“The Altoona White 8th Grade Boys Basketball team traveled to Williamsport last Saturday to take on the Millionaires and won the game by a score of 55-28 to improve their overall record to 7-2 on the season. It was a great team victory with all players bringing energy to the court on offense and defense. Eli Adams led all scorers with 10 points, Avery Hansard scored 9 points, Khyaire Hall and Leighton Johnson both scored 8 points each, Ki’Yonte Barnes scored 6 points, Vinny Nedimyer scored 4 points, Thomas Kessinger scored 3 points, and Tristen Camper, Donato Fanelli, and Carsen Cochran contributed 2 points each to secure the victory. Keep up the great work boys!”
The Altoona White 8th Grade Boys Basketball team traveled to St. Mary’s on Tuesday and won the game by a score of 49-23 to improve their overall record to 8-2 on the season. It was a great team victory with all players scoring on offense and the entire team bringing energy to the court on defense. Donato Fanelli, Ki’Yonte Barnes, and Avery Hansard led all scorers with 8 points each, and Tristen Camper and Eli Adams both scored 6 points each. Carsen Cochran, Khyaire Hall, Leighton Johnson, and Vinny Nedimyer all played tremendous defense and got a lot of rebounds to help secure the victory. The team will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Brookville to take on the Raiders. Good luck boys!
Over the long weekend, the boys 7th grade white team picked up 2 wins to improve their record to 11-0. Saturday they defeated Williamsport in a very scrappy game in which they pulled out a 38-30 win. Nysir shields lead the team with 18 points. The boys then traveled to Saint Mary’s Tuesday afternoon and pulled out a tough 30-28 victory. The boys finished the game with tough defense and great team work. Brendan Cobler, Lucas Mussitelli, and Nysir Shields added 6 points a piece to seal the victory. Great Job boys.
