Do you like competitions? How would you like to win a reward movie? Get ready to help Second Chance Strays from today through the 31st! Mrs. Grassmyer’s Leader in Me class is starting a fundraiser to help the cats at Second Chance Strays. This non-profit organization is in desperate need of supplies such as money, food, blankets, litter, and more! These items will be collected during your Leader in Me class period. The Altoona White 8th Grade Boys Basketball team traveled to Brookville on Saturday and won the game by a score of 51-46 to improve their overall record to 9-2 on the season. It was a great team victory with all players bringing energy to the court on offense and defense. Avery Hansard led all scorers with 12 points, Leighton Johnson scored 11 points, Ki’Yonte Barnes scored 8 points, and both Khyaire Hall and Tristen Camper scored 7 points each. Eli Adams, Vinny Nedimyer, Donato Fanelli, and Carsen Cochran all played tremendous defense and got a lot of rebounds to help secure the victory. The team will be back in action next Monday as they travel to Tyrone to take on the Golden Eagles. Good luck boys!”
