Attention staff and students: This week we are celebrating National School Counseling Week. Today’s theme is “Mountain Lion Monday.” Tomorrow’s theme is “Twin Tuesday:” practice healthy friendships and dress like a friend or two.
Just a reminder: Students are permitted to bring unopened drinks for breakfast or lunch. However, the container must be sealed until you go to breakfast or lunch and once the container is open it must be disposed of before you leave the cafeteria. Students should not be having open drinks in their lockers and drinking them throughout the day.
The annual Mathcounts Competition was held Saturday at the Altoona Campus of Penn State University. Participating were: Oliver Krainer, Evan Marvich, Liam McDowell, Sophie Houk, Erika Irwin, Dysis Pentas and Ethan Holzer. Our students did extremely well! Erika Irwin took 5th place overall, and Oliver Krainer took 3rd place in the Blair county region. Oliver will be moving on to the state competition in Harrisburg in March to compete against the other mathletes across Pennsylvania. Please congratulate these students today for their fine performance! Great job everyone!

8th Grade Boys Altoona Maroon Basketball beat Williamsport 49-24. Thomas Brouse led Altoona with 20 points. Desmond Davis added 8 points. Great game by the entire team.
