After a long hiatus, Sony Interactive Entertainment presents EA Sports College Football 25.
This highly anticipated game makes its return to the beloved franchise of college football, and the early impressions suggested that it was worth the wait up until its release on July 19, 2024. I believe that this is an amazing game with an authentic presentation and life-like interpretations.
Gameplay and Graphics:
EA Sports College Football 25 delivers new and improved gameplay with a variety of difficulties for different gameplay styles. The difficulty levels go from Freshman (Easiest), Varsity, All-American to Heisman (Hardest). The Frostbite Engine shines, producing stunning visuals and realistic in-game movement. The iconic atmospheres of college football stadiums are perfectly tailored to fit in like real life. Showing things like stadium pulse, which mimics real life pressures from away games like a shaking screen or miscommunication. The developers ranked the 25 toughest stadiums to play in for the college football environment. The stadium with the most pulse is Kyle field at Texas A&M.
Game Modes:
College football 25 offers a variety of modes to cater to different play styles.
- Dynasty Mode allows users to build up their program/school from the ground up, recruiting talent and managing their team through seasons.
- Road to Glory gives users a personalized experience as players guide their own created players through their own college career with many different paths and interventions. After you finish your career in college football, users can export their player and import it onto Madden 25.
- Ultimate Team is a college version of Madden’s beloved ultimate team program. Ultimate team originated from Madden NFL 10 and users can do challenges to get coins, then use those coins to buy packs to get player and make the best team you can
- Road to the College Football Playoff is your typical online play against other players.

EA Sports has always been trusted with making sports games such as making all of the Madden games, NCAA Football games, NCAA Basketball games and FIFA games.
Comparison to Madden:
- College Football 25 is known for its fast paced and more arcade gameplay while Madden 25 offers a more realistic simulation to the game.
- College Football 25 has a more in depth Dynasty Mode with a lot of attention to detail, while Madden has a more broad perspective in their franchise mode.
- Madden 25 is considered to be more realistic compared to College Football 25 due to NFL players having more experience than college players. Madden also has more access to data and resources, which allows to create a more realistic simulation.
In conclusion, EA Sports College Football 25’s triumphant return for the franchise captures the essence of college football with its stunning and impressive gameplay and endless possibilities. While there is still room for improvement, EA Sports delivered a solid foundation that they can build off of for more games to come, which is why I give the game a 4/5 stars. EA Sports College Football 26 is set to release in the summer of 2025.
