Read the Rainbow: Read Across America Week

Red! Eighth grader Kendyl Carney displays “Al Capone Does my Shirts,” by Gennifer Choldenko. According to the Ducksters website, Read Across America Week was started in 1998.
Orange! Eighth grader Chloe Jones shows the book, “Double Dutch” by Sharon Draper. According to the Ducksters website, Read Across America Week was created to promote reading in children.
Yellow! Eighth grader Elsie Behe shows, “Matilda”, by Roald Dahl. According to the Ducksters website, Read Across America week was founded by The National Education Association.
Green! Eighth grader Cora Jones holds the book, “Minecraft: Guide to Building” by Josh Gregory. According to the Ducksters website, Read Arcross America week was made to be celebrated starting on March 2.
Blue! Eighth grader Addison Pacifico shows the book, “Shipwrecked!” by Martin Sandler. According to the Ducksters website, the Read Across America Week celebration starts on Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
Purple and Pink! Eighth graders Kendyl Carney, Cora Jones, Elsie Behe, Addison Pacifico and Chloe Jones pose together with the books ‘North American Maps for Curious Minds,” by Matthew Bucklan and Victor Cizek, and “The Digital World Digital Computers That Make Music.” According to  the USA today article, “Read Across America Day,”  by Elinor Aspegren, the day once synonymous with Dr. Seuss has recently changed directions to more diverse books.

Lunch time! The cafeteria is a place where stomachs are filled with delicious food and memories are made with the closest of friends. Countless food options students feasted on everyday. "Our pizza is my favorite, since it's made fresh everyday," says cafeteria assistant manager Angie Fisher.
What's on The Menu?
Focus! Eighth grader Alonna Pfahler looks at her script tracking the show and checking for no missed cues. Pfahler is the stage manager for the show, so it all goes orderly. "I'm so glad to have this opportunity. There can be struggles sometimes, so you just have to make sure to be extra tough," Pfahler said.
