Eighth grade counselor Sydney Koehle recently returned to school after receiving a prosthetic leg and receiving physical therapy to learn how to adjust to it.
Upon her return, she walked the halls of the eighth grade floor and was cheered on by students and staff.
Koehle said, “That was probably the best welcome back gift!”
She also said that it felt great to be back at school and back to normal.
There have been challenges to this process. Koehle said that the biggest challenge that she has had to face is learning to give myself grace and be patient.
At school she has support from students, staff and her biggest support, her dad, eighth grade principal Jerry Koehle.
S. Koehle says that having her dad at school with her has helped her a lot. She also has support outside of school. She said that all her family and friends have all been a huge help throughout this process.
