March Madness is coming up soon!
March Madness is the yearly NCAA tournament where the best men’s college basketball teams play throughout the month of March. The first round is on Thursday, March 20 and the first game will start at 12:15 pm. The teams playing in the first game are Creighton vs Louisville.
March Madness is an exciting time for basketball fans because of the bracket. The bracket is basically where you predict what teams will win each game and who will win the whole tournament. There are four sections: the south, west, east, and midwest. Each section will have a winning team and that winning team will compete against the other winning teams from the other sections.
One person who is especially excited is eighth grade English teacher Miriam Colledge. Colledge is a long time Duke fan.
“I’ve been a fan for over 20 years,” Colledge says. “This year they have a strong team, and I hope they win.”
Colledge also says how much she enjoys March Madness in general.
“I love the drive and the fight that these college kids have, and it’s so interesting to see the Cinderella teams going far,” Colledge says.
