At dismissal, bus riders should exit the building and board the bus immediately. Once you are on the bus, you are not permitted to exit the bus until your designated bus stop. Students who exit the bus prior to the bus stop will not be permitted back on the bus.
It was a rainy morning at the Altoona Mt. Lion Classic this past Saturday, but the skies eventually cleared, making way for a great day of track and field competition. With 19 teams participating, the Lady Mt. Lions shined, collecting numerous medals and personal bests throughout the day.
Raya Potts had an incredible meet, taking first place in the long jump with a personal record, placing second in the 800 meter run, and finishing fourth in the 1600 meter run. Emma Etters ran strong in the distance events, earning third place in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. Evie Broadrick also found success in the 3200, finishing fifth. In the 800 meter run, Everly Nixon placed fourth while Maura Farabaugh came in fifth.
The 8th grade girls 4×800 meter relay team of Raya Potts, Cora Jones, Chloe Jones, and Emma Etters claimed first place, showcasing outstanding teamwork and endurance.
In the hurdles, Mikayla Patterson placed seventh in the 100 meter hurdles and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles. Morgan Irwin added an eighth-place finish in the 300 hurdles. In sprint events, Hailey Camberg took seventh in the 100 meter dash, just ahead of Claire Betar in eighth. In the 200 meter dash, Betar placed sixth and Camberg finished seventh.
Grace Walstrom took home a seventh-place finish in the 1600 meter run. In the 400 meter dash, Everly Nixon placed fifth, Maura Farabaugh came in sixth, and Karma Lopez-Oakes finished eighth.
The 7th grade girls 4×100 meter relay team, consisting of Karma Lopez-Oakes, Kassidi Glunt, Hailey Camberg, and Claire Betar, raced to a third-place finish. The 8th grade girls relay team of My’Asia Chisolm, Nina Dunio, Bri Lardieri, and Haleigh Fisher placed seventh in the same event.
In the 4×400 meter relays, the 7th grade team of Gionna Campbell, Karma Lopez-Oakes, Hailey Camberg, and Claire Betar earned a first-place victory. The 8th grade team of Everly Nixon, Maura Farabaugh, Jaycee Rossman, and Mikayla Patterson brought home third place.
In field events, Addison Harding placed fifth in the triple jump while Ava Lardieri took eighth. Leah Connoly had a great day in the high jump, earning third place. Emerson Clauss had a dominant performance in the throwing events, finishing second in shot put, discus, and javelin. Callie Ingham also performed well, placing second in discus, third in javelin, and sixth in shot put. Alyson Farabaugh secured third place in shot put and fifth in javelin.
In the pole vault, Kaitlyn Murtiff placed third and Gabby Gutshall finished fifth.
