Attention Mathcounts and 24 students:
We are meeting today from 2:45 to 3:45. We will practice the 24 game for the competition. Please make sure to inform your parents. Please note: 24 Competition participants need to have a “IU8 Permission to Photograph” form filled out which are available from Mrs. Abbott and are also in the Google Classroom. Please email Mrs. Abbott with questions.
Any 6th, 7th, or 8th-grade student interested in playing tennis should attend an informational meeting on Friday, May 16th in room 243, Mrs. Colledge’s room
Attention Staff and Students: The help desk will be closed Monday, May 12th through Wednesday May 14th due to Keystones at the highschool. Also the last day for the help desk will be Thursday, May 15th due Prom and Senior Week.
Attention 6th,7th,and 8th Graders: The Junior High Bocce Team will be hosting a candy sale on May 16th during Leader in Me. Airheads will be sold for 50 cents a piece. This is the last candy sale of the school year. The AAJHS Bocce Team greatly appreciated your support, can’t wait to see you there

Huge congratulations to the Altoona Lady Lions for an amazing performance at the Middle School Championships this past Saturday! Out of 66 teams, the Lady Lions took home an impressive 3rd place overall—such an awesome achievement! The 4×800 relay team—Emma Etters, Cora Jones, Leah Connoly, and Everly Nixon—ran a strong race and finished 4th. Emma Etters had an incredible meet, also placing 4th in the 1600-meter run and taking 1st place in the 3200. Way to go, Emma! The 4×100 relay team, made up of Haleigh Fisher, Haley Camberg, Claire Betar, and Nara Harzbecker, finished 8th and brought home a ribbon with a great team effort. Leah Connoly jumped her way to 4th place in the high jump. Raya Potts was a star in the field events, taking 1st place in the triple jump and 2nd in the long jump. Calliope Ingham also had a strong showing, finishing 5th in discus. What an awesome season! Your coaches are super proud of all your hard work, effort, and team spirit. Great job, Lady Lions!
Attention AAJHS track and field athletes. Uniform turn-in will occur on Tuesday after school in the back hallway near the locker rooms. Please have your uniform top and bottom washed for turn-in.
Attention 8th graders! Your end-of-the-year celebration, Roarapalooza, is this week! On Thursday, May 15 during the afternoon (periods 5, 6, 7, and 8) you will be able to enjoy an afternoon filled with fun with your fellow 8th grade classmates! Roarapalooza is free!! 8th graders with 1 or 0 demerits and no fines may attend! You can still pay your fines up until Wednesday of this week to be eligible to attend Roarapalooza!
Attention all students going to the Goddard Space Center. There is a final meeting and presentation practice today in the auditorium 8th period. Please bring all materials for practice. Also, if you haven’t done so already, Please drop your Media Release Form to Mr. Hatch in Room 247 today.
