This week on Reel Time the featured student is Paige Parris, and her favorite movie is the Perks of Being a Wallflower.
The movie, Perks of Being a Wallflower, came out in 2012 and was directed by Stephen Chbosky. Chbosky also wrote the book himself and is a co-creator of the hit series show Jericho. The movie is about how two seniors who take one shy and self-centered freshman under their wing and welcome him into the reality of growing up.
The three main characters in the film are Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, and Erza Miller. Lerman is also indulged in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians movie series based off of the books written by Rick Riodan. Emma Watson has been famous for the world famous Harry Potter series. The Perks of Being a Wallflower has been on the New York Time’s best-seller list for over a year and has been written in over 30 languages. This is a great movie for the students of the AAJHS because it shows the ways that teens grow up from middle school to high school.
