This week on Reel Time it’s going to be A Walk To Remember.
“A Walk to Remember is my favorite movie because it’s such a sweet love story. It is so sincere and positive,” ninth grader Aliyah Lafferty said.
A Walk to Remember was made in 2002 and was directed by Adam Shankman. The movie is based off of the 1999 novel A Walk to Remember written by Nicholas Sparks. Sparks is known for his saddening love stories like The Lucky One, The Notebook, Dear John, and The Last Song.
“My favorite actor is Mandy Moore because she has such a positive attitude and always has amazing advice,” Lafferty said.
Moore plays Jamie Sullivan in the movie. Sullivan is an outcast in her school and she is often laughed at by her peers. Throughout the movie she finds ways to stay positive with the condition she lives with, cancer. She then meets Landon Carter, a troubled teen who fits in the the popular kids of their school. At first Sullivan rejects Carter but through many heart filled and teary eyed activities Carter helps Sullivan fulfil all of her ambitions such as being in two places at once or building a telescope to see a comet.
A Walk to Remember is truly saddening and is heartfelt with tears but it is a great story of love.
