Weekly words of wisdom
“I never felt comfortable with myself, because I was never part of the majority. I always felt awkward and shy and on the outside of the momentum of my friends’ lives.”
-Steven Spielberg
This week’s quote is from Steven Spielberg American film director, screenwriter, producer and business magnate. Spielberg’s films cover many themes and genres. Steven Spielberg is considered one of the most influential filmmakers in the history of cinema. Spielberg won the Academy Award for Best Director for his 19903 movie, Schindler’s List and 1998 movie, Saving Private Ryan. Some of Spielberg’s films include: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws. Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones Series, Twister, The Goonies, and Tin Tin. An interesting fact that may not be known, is that on Steven Spielberg’s first film he only made a profit of $1. Now he is worth $3.3 billion.
This quote was chosen this week to show that even though Steven Spielberg was never with the “in-crowd”, he still followed his dreams and now makes millions. Because Spielberg stayed true to himself he is now one of the highest paid film directors of all time. This quote shows that people as successful as Steven Spielberg have had trouble fitting in and also had trouble trying to figure out where they belong.
