This week’s quote is from actor and singer, Selena Gomez. Some may recognize Selena from her show Wizards of Waverly Place. Some movies Selena Gomez is in are Monte Carlo, Ramona and Beezus, Another Cinderella Story, Princess Protection Program, and Getaway.

This quote was chosen this week to show that material objects should not be valued more than intangible items. Selena Gomez, worth $16 million, has it all but in this quote she says “what you have inside is much more beautiful than what’s on the outside.” This quote could represent the overvalued material items and it could also show that inner beauty is more important than outside appearance.  When people say “it’s what’s on the inside that counts,” its true! Everybody has something unique to offer, each person is beautiful in their own way, if everyone looked and acted like each other, how boring would the world be? Even though Selena has more than enough money, she has realized that love and friendship is more important that any new smartphone. Many people try to change themselves to look like people in the magazines, but everyone should be themselves and own their flaws.
