Attention students – Only clear water bottles are permitted to be brought into school. Students are not permitted to bring any bottles that are not completely clear. No Stanley cups or large non-clear containers are permitted and will be confiscated.

This is a reminder that Chromebooks should be used for school purposes only. Chromebooks that are being used for anything other than school assignments can be considered to be disruptive as well as an audiovisual violation. Taking videos or pictures during class time is not an acceptable use of the chromebook.

Altoona Area Lady Lions Shine at Clearfield Bison Invitational
On Saturday, the Altoona Area Lady Lions Track & Field team delivered a strong and determined performance at the Clearfield Bison Invitational, finishing second overall despite battling through cold and rainy conditions all day.
In the field events, Callie Ingham led the way with a dominant performance, earning first place in the discus and second in the shot put. Alyson Farabaugh contributed valuable points, placing fourth in the discus and finishing fifth in both the javelin and shot put. The pole vault crew also had a strong showing, with Evie Irwin taking third and Gabby Gottshall close behind in fourth. In the jumps, Leah Connoly stood out by placing third in the triple jump while also securing fourth place in both the long jump and high jump, proving her versatility across multiple events.
On the track, the 4×800 meter relay team of Cora Jones, Raya Potts, Emma Etters, and Leah Connoly battled tough competition and adverse weather to earn a third-place finish. The 4×100 meter relay team of Karma Lopez-Oakes, Raelynn Woomer, Hailey Camberg, and Claire Betar also put together a strong effort, finishing in fifth place. In the hurdle events, Jaycee Rossman raced to a third-place finish in the 300 meter hurdles. Mikayla Peterson added to the team’s success with fifth-place finishes in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.
Sprinter Hailey Camberg had a strong day, finishing third in the 200 meter dash and fourth in the 100 meter dash. In the middle-distance races, Raya Potts placed third in the 800 meter run, continuing to be a consistent point scorer. The 1600 meter run saw Grace Walstrom and Rowyn Resig take fifth and sixth place, respectively, and in the 3200 meter run, Evie Broderick fought through the conditions to earn a fifth-place finish.
Overall, the Lady Lions showed resilience, teamwork, and grit, turning in top performances across every area of competition. This second-place finish is a reflection of their hard work and determination, and it sets the tone for an exciting remainder of the season. Congratulations to all who competed through the rain and cold.
