Editorial and Advertising Policy
The Livewire welcomes your letters to the editor concerning items of interest. Letters must be signed in order to be published. Please include your homeroom number so we may contact you if necessary. The Livewire reserves the right to refuse publication of any inappropriate material. Letters may be submitted electronically or delivered to Mr. Clouser in room 234. The Livewire accepts advertisements and may refuse publication to any advertiser.
This website is a student publication available to the students, staff, faculty, and community at large. This website serves as a public forum for the school.
Bylines
1. All articles, graphics, photos, art, columns, pages, reviews and other material creatively conceived- with the exception of staff editorials, mug shots and cut outs- will be bylined with the producers name.
2. All bylined writers will be held accountable for their work.
3. When more than one person has contributed creatively to a piece of work, any one person must be bylined as a producer.
Online comments
We encourage readers to voice their opinions respectfully in regards to both the readers and writers of the publication. Comments will be pre-moderated and may be removed if deemed in violation of this policy. Comments should remain on topic, concerning the article they are about. Brevity is encouraged. Posting under a pseudonym is not permitted.
A comment will be deleted if: the comment attacks a named or identified person or group unreasonably, the comment makes the readers unreasonably uncomfortable on the basis of race, gender, religion, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation or other, the comment attacks personally any school employee or student or the comment contains obscenities or sexual explicitness.
Errors
Concerns about errors in the student media may be submitted through the adviser. The phone number for the adviser is 814-381-7590 ext 7234 and email is [email protected]. The publication staff retains the right to determine whether, in fact, and error has been made. Known and/or found errors that are brought to the attention of the student media will be addressed regardless if realized by the author, audience or staff.
Corrections
All stories that are corrected will show a date and time stamp at the bottom for the latest correction. Staff will also put an editor’s note at the top of any corrected story telling readers about the correction.
