This year for the Hall of Fame inductees there is Rusty Wallace, Herb Thomas, Leonard Wood, Cotton Owens and Buck Baker. The driver that most people know is Wallace. Baker had 46 wins over the 26 years he raced. Then Owens had nine wins as a driver, but he was known for being a car owner for Junior Johnson and David Pearson.

Most people know Wallace because he drove the number two car for Roger Penske. Although he did not get championships for Penske, he made up for the championship by winning 55 races over 25 years in the series. Then he stayed in the series as a car owner and a broadcaster.

Baker was the first driver to have back to back championships. Also he had 46 wins out of his 26 years in the sport. He had 45 pole starts, 246 top fives, and 372 top 10’s.

Then Owens was known for being a team owner for Junior Johnson and David Pearson. As a driver he won nine races. He died days after he was announced as a member of the induction this year. For more information on the inductees go to nascar.com or watch the ceramony this weekend on the SPEED channel.
