Weekly suggestions and seasonal recipes.

Christmas and New Years have passed.  People may be looking for something that’s a dessert and something to eat before bed.  Peanut Butter Blossoms are peanut butter cookies with hershey kisses in the center.  Never be afraid to try something new, it’s always a fun experience making something.   This recipe makes seven dozen cookies, so here is the recipe and instructions.

All the ingredients can be purchased at Walmart or any grocery store.  The ingredients are: granulated Sugar, brown sugar, creamy peanut butter, margarine, eggs, all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder and about 7 dozen Hershey Kisses.

First preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Now take a large bowl and put ½ cup granulated sugar,  1 cup of packed brown sugar, 1 cup of creamy peanut butter, 1 cup of margarine and 2 eggs. Use an electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with a spoon to mix the ingredients together. Then, stop using the electric mixer and stir in 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 ½ teaspoons of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

Next put some granulated sugar in a bowl.  Shape the dough into 1-inch sized balls and roll them in the sugar that’s in the bowl.  Then place the one-inch dough balls that have been rolled in sugar on an ungreased cookie sheet about two inches apart from each other.  Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are light brown.  Immediately after the cookies come out of the oven press a hershey kiss into the center of each one. Now put them in the fridge for 2-5 minutes until the Hershey Kisses harden. Now the cookies are ready to eat.
