They weren’t wrong when they said, “April shows bring May flowers!” Summer is all about relaxing by the pool, drinking ice cold lemonade, sleepovers, parties, vacation and enjoying the weather. Here’s how to do it on a budget.

Materials needed: a minimum of $5 and a ride to the closest Dollar Tree.

Using Uber, Lyft or a friend get a ride to the Dollar Tree. I am a fanatic of the Dollar Tree! Everything is only one single dollar!

Now that you’re at the dollar store, look around! You’ll be surprised at what all you can buy for a dollar.

Today I will be purchasing the following summer essentials: “Kool” Flavored ice, large beach ball, novelty inflatable pool ring and glow sticks.

The total of my purchase, including tax, was $4.78. I was satisfied with all I could buy with my five dollars. I feel I am summer ready. Have a happy summer!
