The boys’ and girls’ basketball teams have made it to the midpoint of their season and look to finish strong.

The varsity Lady Lions are halfway through their season with a 6-5 record.

“Right now we are losing a lot of players due to injuries, and it is definitely hurting us on the court,” Jaiden Gotshall said.

The team has became close throughout the season.

“We have all became closer in the game and outside the game, which is beneficial,” Gotshall said.

The Lady Lions white basketball team is midway through their season as well.  Their record this season is 2-5.

“I am happy with our record but I don’t think I could ever say I’m completely satisfied because I always know that no matter what I can do better,” Leah Degannaro said.

The team has had rivals to face throughout the season.

“Our biggest rivals are ourselves.  Each day we want to get better. I don’t think we should compare ourselves to certain players or teams in particular.  I think we should compare ourselves to who we were yesterday and see what we need to work on and improve,” Degannaro said.

The Lady Lions maroon basketball team is also in the middle of their season with a record of 6-2.

“I’m happy with our record but I feel like the games we lost we could have won,”  Morgan Stevens said.

Like every team, they have challenges that they have to overcome.

“We had to face our starting point guard fracturing her fibula, and each and every one us had to step up to fill her spot,” Stevens said.

The boys’ maroon basketball season is halfway through their season as well.

“Last year we started off on a not so good record, got better this year and we started off good, but now we are losing a lot,” Tyrone Miller said.

The boys’ white basketball record is 4-3.

“I feel that we can be doing a lot better,” Tyson Reid said.

As the season has progressed the team has faced some challenges.

“We don’t have a lot of big men, and teams have big men that get rebounds,” Reid said.

The boys’ basketball season ends on Feb. 12 with both teams facing each other.  The white and maroon girls’ basketball teams both end their seasons on Feb. 8 playing each other.  The ninth grade lady lions also have their last game against Cumberland Valley on Feb. 8.
