The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many holiday celebrations to cease. The theatre wants to have a positive impact in the community, even during this hardship.

Currently, the Altoona Community Theatre is holding the Christmas Carol-A-Thon contest, which started on Dec. 11, 2020 and ends on Dec. 24, 2020.

In an attempt to bring positives to the community during these trying times, the Altoona Community Theatre calls all singers to participate in a contest sponsored by Altoona First Savings Bank. The rules for qualification are simple: record yourself singing a Christmas song with family or friends if desired. Individuals can include an accompaniment, wear costumes, film dances and be as creative as possible!

“The person who gets the most ACT donations will receive bragging rights, as well as a $100 gift certificate for The Playbill Store,” says the Altoona Community Theatre.

In these times, the theatre wants to share the community talent with everyone to brighten everyone’s spirit.

When the time comes, the theatre will compile the songs into a YouTube program.
