Testing on animals!

Many well known makeup and cleaning companies test products on beloved, innocent animals.

Everyone knows the phrase, “The end justifies the means,” but that 19th century quote is outdated. Violating the basic rights of animals just to get money is morally wrong. When I say testing on animals, I don’t mean applying some bush and eye shadow to a bunny. I mean injecting harmful chemicals that can result in permanent damage or even death.

Bunnies often become victims of these injustices. They are taken from their homes, or in most cases, breed into the testing system. The rabbits and other testing animals are not given a natural environment such as, grass to run on, dirt to dig in or fresh fruits and vegetables to enjoy. They are experiments until death unless we can do something about it.

TikTok was incredibly influential and informative about animal abuse. The TikTok hashtag #stopanimalcruelty has 26.2 million views and tons of videos have been created bringing attention to these issues.

A well respected source, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), said, “If these atrocious acts were committed outside laboratories, they would be felonies.”

Some people might bring up the argument that by testing on animals companies make it safer for consumers to use the products, but that is completely irrational. We live in an age where we have  technology and tons of tests to access so much information. Even though it may cost a little more money, it is very possible to see if the products are safe without the use of animals.

Here are a few companies that test on animals. PETA does a fantastic job providing which companies are cruelty free. In the following articles, there is find plenty of evidence that  L’Oréal, Clorox and  Chanel  harm animals if the sale of the product requires animal testing before being sold to humans.

However, companies like Dove  prove to consumers that they are cruelty free by campaigning other companies to join a global commitment on their home page to end testing on animals. Also, PETA  supports e.l.f. Cosmetics and Herbal Essences for their assistance in reinforcing help for the cause

In order to ensure animal safety, it is important for consumers to visit company websites to thoroughly check their ethical standards before purchasing their products.
