An awesome performance by Brad Keselowski winning the 2012 Sprint Cup championship! Even though I wanted Jimmie Johnson to win the championship. Keselowski worked for the championship so he deserves the championship. Also I’m glad for Roger Penske (Keselowski’s car owner) for finally winning a Sprint Cup Series championship. Penske has won 15 Indianapolis 500, 12 open wheel championship, and his first Sprint Cup Championship.
It was an amazing race to end the season. There were a only a few cautions in the race. There was one for debris on the track. Also one for when Ricky Stenhouse Jr blew a right side front tire and hit the wall. Stenhouse Jr won the Nationwide Series championship on Saturday.
Then with 39 laps to go Johnson had a mechanical failure, but a couple laps earlier the rear tire changer missed a lug nut. So Johnson had to come back down pit road to put the lug nut back on. So he came from a couple points back from Keselowski to like 30 from when he had the mechanical failure and couldn’t get out to finish the race.
It was an awesome way for Dodge to end its final season with the Sprint Cup Series. By winning the championship. Also I hope to see Dodge return to the series in the next couple years. Penske Racing will be going to Ford next year. There are 98 days till the Daytona 500 in February. Can’t wait until next season to start.
