Eighth grade basketball players Ryann Lantzy, Andie Adams, Ajaycia Alexander and Raylin Eyer pose together. The girls will be competing in the game.

Today the eighth grade girls basketball team will be competing in their first home game against Central Mountain.

The team competes at an eighth grade level but also consists of several seventh graders. Playing in an older division will be challenging, but the returning eighth graders have hope in their team.

Eighth grader Ajaycia Alexander said, “We know how they play, so I think we can win.”

Alexander believes they hold much potential and will have a successful season.

The game will be held in the junior high A gym at 4:30 p.m. and tickets cost $2. Students are encouraged to attend and support the girls.

“When the student section cheers, I feel motivated,” said Alexander.

The theme for this game is “Ugly sweater” so wear your best ugly sweater and cheer on the girls!
