(3/21 & 3/22) The AAJHS Chess Club meeting this Wednesday is canceled. Please plan to attend next Wednesday, March 29th in Cafeteria 1 from 2:45 – 3:45 PM. Contact Mr. Werking if you have any questions.

(3/15-3/22) Students, did you know the end of the third marking period is March 23?  That means you only have six to go.  Do you have missing assignments?  Are you close to the next higher letter grade?  If so, get busy!  You have a few days left to work hard and finish strong.  Remember, students with an average of 90% or better earn the Honor Roll distinction.  Also, at the end of the year, A-pins are awarded to students who have an average of 86% or better in core subjects, and an average of 81% or better in elective classes. Make an academic achievement goal for this year and work towards that goal every day!

(3/16 and 3/24) Attention 8th Grade students: The AAHS Lioneer Dance Team is announcing that we will be using an in person tryout format for Lioneer tryouts this year. (3/21) We had an exciting day of football here at the Junior High on Sunday. The school’s top 7 th and 8 th grade football players competed in the first annual Mt. Lion’s 4v4 Football Tournament. The tournament had a lot of great action and plays were being made all over the court! Team K was the tournament champion. The team members were: Lucas “Gor-Duke” Gority; Cody “I don’t like to chat” Chattams; Luke “Geissy-G” Geishauser; Blaine “The Night Train” Lanzendorfer; and “Big Buffalo Bill” Adam Strohman. Team K proved they had what it took to finna get that dub by winning 4 consecutive games and battling back from the loser’s bracket. Thank you to all the players that participated!

(3/21) Attention students:  Here is today’s math question:  How can we add eight 8’s to get 1000?  Mathcounts is meeting on Wednesday after school until 3:30.   Please have a ride ready at 3:30.  Please see Mrs. Abbott in C275 for details or email.

(3/21) This Month’s School counseling tip Tuesday topic is Coping skills. Coping skills are effective techniques to help us regulate our emotions and reactions to feelings. Coping skills are not “one size fits all.” You must find the coping skills that work for you! For more information, see your school counselor or English teacher.
